Aesthetics

Dixie Eye Care offers several aesthetic treatments, including Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) photofacials and cosmetic neurotoxin injections (e.g., Botox).

Intense Pulsed Light Treatments

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-invasive, all-natural treatment that uses light energy to reduce inflammation and help with things like rosacea, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and dry eye. Light energy absorbed into the skin rejuvenates the skin and also increases the quality and quantity of tear production. We use the iLight Pro, which couples IPL with Radio Frequency technology to promote new collagen growth and helps with fine lines and wrinkles and with the structure around tear glands in the eyelid. 4 treatments spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart yield excellent dry eye and cosmetic results.

Our Nurse Practitioner, Shanna Foote, and Dr. Jason Foote, perform these IPL procedures.

What to Expect

On the day of your treatment, do not wear any make-up. You will have a lidocaine cream placed on the area to be treated for comfort. Then an ultrasound gel will be applied and eye coverings to protect your eyes from the bright light. Anyone accompanying you will be given protective eyewear.

The treatment consists of multiple flashes of light from the IPL handpiece. Each flash of light will feel like a rubber band snap. The settings can be adjusted to maximize your comfort and clinical outcomes.

At our office, we use the iLight Pro IPL and radio frequency unit, which combines radio frequency for additional collagen production for help with fine lines and skin tightening.
